Every number we charge, on the page, before you call.
Money is the question people are most embarrassed to ask and most likely to leave over. So it is answered here in figures rather than in a phrase about investing in yourself. Nothing on this page requires a phone call to find out.

Where we stand with the major plans
In network means we bill the plan directly and you pay a copay. Out of network means you pay us and we give you a superbill to claim back — most plans reimburse between 40% and 70% of it. We will tell you which of those applies to you before you commit to anything.

The sliding scale
Eighteen reduced-fee places, with the bands written down.
A sliding scale that exists only in a sentence saying "talk to us about fees" is not a sliding scale. Ours is a fixed number of places at fixed rates, reviewed at the start of each term. You self-declare your band — we do not ask for payslips, tax returns or any proof, because means-testing people in distress is its own small cruelty.
I picked Thornfield over two other practices for a boring reason: the sliding scale was on the website, in numbers, with how many places were left. Everywhere else wanted me to ring up and ask what I could afford.
The rest of the money questions
More than 48 hours' notice and there is no charge. Inside 48 hours it is the full session fee, because the hour cannot be given to anyone else at that notice. We waive it once a year for everybody without being asked.
No. You are invoiced the day after each session and you pay it. Nothing is charged automatically and nothing renews.
Rates are reviewed each January and any change is announced eight weeks beforehand. If you are on the sliding scale, your rate is held for the term you are in.
Often. Send us the scheme name and we will tell you within a day whether we can invoice them directly, and how many sessions the scheme actually covers before you start.
It is an itemised receipt with the codes your insurer needs to reimburse you for out-of-network care. We issue one monthly, automatically, without you having to ask.
Tell your clinician. Sessions have never been stopped here over an unpaid invoice, and a payment plan is an ordinary conversation rather than an escalation.
Still not sure what this would cost you?
Send us your plan name and we will check your actual copay and deductible position before you book anything. It takes us a day and costs you nothing.
